Milford Hospital Auxiliary Awards Scholarships

August 2010

On August 12, 2010 seven graduating seniors were awarded scholarships from the Milford Hospital Auxiliary and the Milford Hospital Volunteer Services Department.   The scholarships are made possible by the fundraising efforts of the Auxiliary and are awarded annually to Milford Hospital’s Junior Volunteers.  This years recipients are Stephanie Albanese,  Michael DiPreta, Elena Ko and Shanli Parikh all of Milford,  Mary Kate Brigantic of Hamden and Shayna Benjamin of Orange.

A committee representative of auxiliary members and volunteer services staff selected the recipients.  All graduating Junior Volunteers are eligible to apply, making the selection process extremely difficult.  According to Milford Hospital Junior Volunteer Coordinator, Christine Brown, “our Junior Volunteers are all so deserving, we wish we could award each of them a scholarship.   The six were selected “because of their service to the hospital as well as their strong extracurricular activities, personal accomplishments and outstanding character” said Brown.
